An Amazing Journey

Rosie talks about watching her pregnancy struggle unfold this season.

May 24, 2011

My lovelies, I can't believe the season finale has already happened! It has been such an amazing journey, and I have felt so honored to have had the support from so many of you who have watched the show.

This episode was such a fun one and particularly important to me, because I got to help a dad prepare for parenthood. Dads just like moms experience the anxiety and stress of wanting to be the very best they can be. However for many dads the fact that they are having a baby doesn't really sink in until the baby is born. They don't get to be pregnant and so they are less in touch with the fact that the baby is coming. Often they aren't as gung-ho about taking the various parenting and childbirth classes that women take. The fact that Matt was going to be the stay-at-home dad meant that even if he hadn't completely got his mind around having a baby, I needed to get him mentally and emotionally prepared quickly so that he could help Lucy as much as possible, especially with her going back to work so soon after the baby was born. I do have to say I was not instilled with confidence when I saw how difficult Matt found the easiest of tasks, but he truly came a long way in a very short amount of time. I was very proud of him, and I knew he had all the skills to be a great dad.

This episode was also such a happy one, because I got to watch Daron and me find out that we were having another baby boy. I've watched a lot of sad moments on this season's episodes when it comes to our pregnancy battles, and truthfully it has been difficult to watch. So seeing the moment I found out I was pregnant and then the moment we discovered we were having a boy, I was filled with so much happiness again and can't believe just how lucky we are to be blessed with two wonderful healthy boys. Just in case you were wondering about that scene, Daron and I met in a hotel elevator on the way up to a roof top bar in Manhattan. Yes, an elevator, ladies and gents! So the next time you are in one, you might want to look around and see who else is in there with you! We like to go back to the hotel and open up the envelope in which our doctor has written the sex of the baby. It makes it such a special moment; I'm smiling just thinking about it.

Alas, I must go to practice some dance moves with LT (leg kicks all the way). Until next time, my sweet peas, it's been a pleasure!

Pregnant in Heels was captivating! Rosie is a delight. I get a kick out of her tough love! I can't wait until next season.

Rosie, I love your show. It's so much fun to watch. It keeps me laughing, crying and yelling right along with the show! I'm so happy for you and your growing family! You are an amazing mom and an amazing person and deserve to have all the happiness you could ask for! Can't wait for next season... (there will be a next season right?) keep being amazing!

I LOVE YOU ROSIE!!!! SO GLAD YOU HAVE THIS SHOW!!! You have so much wisdom that will help alot of these clueless new mothers. Yet what really is amazing is how young you are. I'm a mother of 4, I've made alot of mistakes, yes, but I've always done the best I can and tried to be realistic, knowing the good and the bad, yet loving them with everything in me. Whats truly great about you, is your undeniable patience. I know I would have lost it with some of those mothers I've seen on your show. Hats off to you!

rosie - I adore you and thus, your show, as an extension on you is a delight. having coached and taught parenting classes myself for 13 years and as a Mom of 3 myself, I am happy to see that you are keeping the welfare of the baby first and foremost. keep up the good work!

Hi Rosie! Love the show, great season. Question, will your fabulous London Shopper diaper bag be on sale anytime soon? I want it so so BAD!!! And I am saving up for it. On my third pregnancy, due this August. Thank you, for being so fun and fabulous! K

Rosie, I love your show and everyone in it. Congrats on your 2nd baby! Thank you so much for sharing your private struggle. My hubby and I have been trying for 8 years. Three pregnancies, but no baby. There are too many women out there going through this struggle but there is not enough emotional support out there. Thanks for keeping my spririts up with your show and keeping me motivated. I hope to join motherhood soon. Take care!

First off, congrats on the baby! Second, I have a question regarding the pregnant woman you dealt with who was terrified of needles: why didn't you suggest the option of having a completely natural birth where no needles or hospitals would have been necessary? I myself gave birth to my beautiful 1 1/2 year old daughter at a water birth center. That didn't involve any needles or bright lights in a hospital room. And, since I wasn't numbed by drugs, I could better assess how much to push (and when not to push) which in effect left my body free of any ripping or tearing, which was another one of this woman's fears. I'm wondering if you have an aversion to natural and/or water birth, or if there was another reason. I respect the choice of all women in how they choose to deliver their babies, but my heart broke for this woman because it seemed like she didn't think she had any other options but to deliver in a hospital. I look forward to some comments from either you or other mothers. And, for anyone who's interested in what I'm talking about, watch the movie "The Business of Being Born." It changed my perspective on MANY things. Thanks!

I love your show. I turned it on one day and fell in love with Rosie and crew. I can't wait until next season. I was so happy for you guys, the new baby is adorable. You had been through so much heartache along the way. I was thrilled to see the new little one! God Bless you all!

When does the show return???

Can't wait until next year!

my 2 are full grown but i luv your show & the amazing way you turn everything around !! i especially admire you for sharing YOUR struggles & story ~ am sure it helped many & it sure gave me encouragement !! we must learn to count our blessings day by day

Rosie hello, my name is Marcela'm from Brazil and wanted to say that his series debut a short time here, and I'm loving it. From what I read in the blog you got pregnant, I identified so much with you because I really wanted to get pregnant and I could not. After much trial time I got pregnant with my 45 years, were 15 years of trying, and God sent me the best gift of my life, which was able to see grow for nine months not only a life, but three, my two beautiful girls and my little boy, Rose I wanted to give my congratulations for this new life that you are generating or generated, and wanted to say that no matter how old we women will get pregnant, but whenever this happens we will be pregnant and vans. A huge kiss and every sort of world to you.

God bless you and your family. I have struggled with recurring miscarriages and am trying to stay positive. Your openness and candor about your own struggles and your wonderful outcome have helped me do so. So many of us are going through this, we should talk about it more openly! (She says as she leaves an anonymous comment ... ) Anyway, best of luck to you.

Rosie you are just amazing... I hope that I will be able to do some similar things in France with my company Soon Baby! Pregnancy and mums are the most beautiful! A big Hello to everyone from France;)
